The Human Rights Centre (HRC) is a non-profit organization established in January 2013 with the aim of contributing to the protection and promotion of human rights in Somaliland. The central policy of the Human Rights Centre is creating and fostering a culture of voluntary human rights activism where committed human rights defenders with passion contribute to the protection, promotion, and realization of human rights. HRC is seeking a child rights project officer to oversee a six-monthly project aimed at focusing on children’s rights in Somaliland. The project will focus on advocacy and awareness raising on children’s rights and will conduct workshops for various stakeholders, including clan elders, religious experts, and state officials, on the rights of children based on research conducted by the Human Rights Centre in collaboration with Maastricht University, the Netherlands. The successful candidate is expected to write a project proposal and engage actively in fundraising for the continuation of the project.
Role: Child Rights Project Officer
Duty Station: Hargeisa.
Contract: six months with possible extension based on funds availability.
Salary: $500
