On 12th February 2016

On 12th February 2016, Human Rights Centre conducted a public debate on criminalization of media. This has been a sensitive and complex issue since the dictatorship system of Siyad Bare regime which repressed the free media and freedom of expression. The debate was participated by government officials, university students, civil society organizations, academics, journalists, Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA) and media houses.
